Rochester's Cold Spell Can Put Your Plumbing at Risk

The new year has certainly brought colder temperatures.  Although we haven't accumulated much snow, the temperature is expected to drop as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit with the windchill factor tonight!

In addition to bundling up in layers this week, it's also important to keep an eye on your plumbing system.  Extended cold spells can cause your pipes to freeze!

Signs Your Pipes are Frozen:

  • Visible Frost - If you notice frost building on the pipes under your sink, your pipe might be frozen before you even try to turn on the faucet.
  • No Running Water - When pipes freeze, running water won't be delivered to your sink.  If no water is coming out when you turn on the faucet, the water pipe may be frozen.
  • Burst Pipes - Water expands when it freezes.  If you notice that your pipe has burst, give us a call.  Our professional plumbing technicians can help you get your water up and running.
Stay warm this week and if you experience any frozen pipes, give us a call at 585-216-3058.  It's important to act quickly and thaw your pipe to prevent burst pipes and extensive damage.  Our professional plumbing technicians can help you with all of your plumbing repair needs!   For more tips, Like us on FacebookFOLLOW us on Twitter, and Connect with us on Google+!
