Geothermal heat pumps require minimal maintenance. Since all of the parts are reliable and located inside of your home, they have a longer life expectancy than other heating and cooling options. They aren't subject to the same wear-and-tear!
Keeping your geothermal system clean will help it work at maximum efficiency throughout the year. This fall, there are a few simple preventative steps you can take to keep your heat pump clean and working smoothly.
Simple Maintenance Tips:
- Clean Your Air Filter - Check to see if your air filter is dirty. If your filter is washable, you can clean it by hand. If your filter is disposable, change it out for a new, high efficiency filter.
- Check Your Coils - Dirty coils can make your system work harder than it has to.
- Clean the Heat Exchanger (open loop systems only)
